Evidently, People’s Artist of Russia Nadezhda Kadysheva has liked celebrating her family occasions on the stage of the Summer Amphitheatre in Vitebsk. Last year, Nadezhda Nikitichna performed her jubilee program, devoted to the celebration of the 25th anniversary of her marriage with Alexander Kostyk, the director of the ensemble “Zolotoye Koltso” and the composer of her songs. After four years of absence Laima Vaikule has appeared at “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk once again.” The Lady of the stage, the one, the only Laima, a variety show performer of European style, an extremely beautiful woman has always been in the public eye. It seems everything is well known about her, however, journalists’ questions never stop and she never stops answering them. Thus, during the “Star Hour” she anticipated one of them about the latest events.
- I’ve met Placido Domingo, and received a lot of compliments from him then I’ve made friends with Lara Fabian, so these are very important and interesting events for me. And for those who haven’t been informed yet: I’ve become related with Raymond Pauls, and Igor Krutoy, authors of my songs. Igor and I have become godparents of Pauls’ granddaughter.
The map of the Festival Vitebsk depicts a lot of roads. One of them leads directly to the centre of folk crafts “Zadvinie”. The Fair “City of Masters” can be found there as well. This place is always crowded with people. Handcrafts are especially attractive for their originality. Hence, people buy clay penny whistles, baskets, embroideries, and pictures. On July, 10th the opening of the exhibition of Etchings by Marc Chagall takes place in Vitebsk Regional Local History Museum within the framework of the International Festival of Arts “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk.” These are the illustrations of the artist to the poem by Nicolai Gogol “Dead Souls”. The illustrations are donated by the Independent Charitable Organization “Triumph – A New Age” to the republic of Belarus.
