1992

On July 18th, 1992 at 22.00, popular TV hosts Zinaida Bondarenko from Minsk, Svetlana Morgunova from Moscow, and V. Vivlasenko from Kiev appeared on the stage of Vitebsk Summer Amphitheatre.

1993

In 1993 the International Music Festival "Slavianski Bazaar" became a FIDOF member (International Federation of Festival Organizations), which meant that the festival was recognized at the international level.

1994

"Slavianski Bazaar-94" attracted artists from Belarus, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, the USA, Turkey, and France.

1995

Since 1995 the festival has been called the International Festival of Arts.

1996

The concept of the Festival Grand Opening was defined as "Revive the Temple in Yourselves". Temple for all the people in the world who have good will, who strive for peace, understanding and happiness for all.

1997

Six festival days included 92 absolutely different projects such as Music and Children Festivals, cinema project "Slavic Cinema Premiere", Folklore Festival, the International Pop Song Performers Contest and others.

1998

In 1998 the festival became a joint cultural project of two countries - Russia and Belarus. From this year the festival has been called "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk".

1999

For the first time the number of festival events exceeded 125. 17 concerts were held on the main festival venue - the Summer Amphitheatre.

2000

"Slavianski Bazaar" in Vitebsk managed to gather the representatives of all Slavic nations and this, in fact, is festival record.

2001

It was the 10th anniversary of the International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" and for the first time in the history of Vitebsk the festival greeted the Presidents of the three countries - Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine.

2002

Artists, singers, dancers, musicians, poets, painters, composers, film directors from more than 25 countries took part in the festival.

2003

The festival was opened by the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. The President mentioned that "Slavianski Bazaar" had withstood the test of time.

2004

For the first time during the festival the round table of Festival organizers, representatives of the International Festival Movement took place in the press-centre of International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk".

2005

From the stage of the Summer Amphitheatre Mario MORENO, secretary general of the International Federation of Festival Organizations, announced that the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander LUKASHENKO was awarded a Diploma and a Medal “For considerable contribution to the development of the world’s festival movement”.

2006

The unique feature of the International Festival of Arts “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk” of 2006 is that its jubilee coincided with the 15th anniversary of the independent states of Belarus, Russia and Ukraine.

2007

Organized by Vitebsk City Centre of Culture for 16 years, the International Festival of Arts “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk” has gained popularity far beyond the borders of Belarus and has an absolute right to be called a phenomenon in the European culture.
