The museum exposition devoted to the 15th jubilee edition of “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk” has opened in the Literature Museum.

The necessity of the “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk” own museum was expressed during one of the latest meetings of the Republican organization committee for preparation and holding “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk”. The idea was proved by city authorities and the Board of Festival Directors. Of course, to accomplish it time is needed. However, the museum exposition has been produced by the beginning of the present jubilee Forum of Arts. Vladimir Matveichuk, the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, took part in the Unveiling ceremony.

Alexander Vyshka, an artist and the author of the exposition, all the features of the hall have been used at most to underline the character of the exposition. Such features as an illuminated bar, a dance-balcony, a staircase, a banquet room, a cloakroom, and even the ceiling determine an artistic image of the exposition which is like a maze: whenever you go you’ll get to the festival.

Fragments of stage settings, posters, photos, prizes, printed products are exhibited at the Museum. Some displays are really unique, because they were produced only for participants of the Festival. Such displays, for example, as accreditation cards, festival tabloids and photo albums are among them. Such pieces of setting as a billboard, a clock, a miniature tram which decorated the stage of the Summer Amphitheatre are also exhibited.

All main cultural events of “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk” are present at the exposition as well. There is a jazz and cinematography corner, a star gallery, a F.I.D.O.F. display, a “City of Masters” street, etc. Photos of prize-winners of song contests and jury chairpersons for the whole period are placed on the huge cubes in the center of the hall.

The historic meeting of the Presidents of three countries Belarus, Russia and Ukraine: Alexander Lukashenko, Vladimir Putin, and Leonid Kuchma at the International Festival of Arts is also represented at the exposition. A lot of diplomats, high-ranking officials from various countries visit the Festival. This fact is also highlighted at the exposition. On the second floor the whole history of 15 festivals can be studied.

- We have to make this exposition in extremely short period of time, only two weeks, - says Olga Salnikova, the head of artistic group. The Board of Festival Directors would have hardly completed it without the support of local authorities. A large artistic group has created the exposition “15 years of the International Festival of Arts “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk”. Museum workers Sergey Borkunov, Alexander Gromyko, Sergey Romanovskiy, young artist and assistants Vanya and Vlad Vyshka (correspondently a son and a nephew of the author of the project) make up this group.

At the Unveiling ceremony Vladimir Matveichuk, the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, said with confidence that the exposition would become the basis of a unique museum of the festival which unites countries, arts, and people.
