ЦИРК «СИ ЮЙ» (Китай)

The circus art of Chinese People’s Republic has been represented in Vitebsk for the first time. To perform in Vitebsk the circus artists of “Xi-Yui” have to travel along 25000 kilometers distance.

Their program, which consists of unique difficult and intensive acrobatics and tricks, is completely devoted to the International Festival of Arts “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk” anв to hospitable Vitebsk.

Vitebsk residents and visitors of the Festival capital applauded vigorously to the performers. The program includes acrobatics which reflect the circus art of China which is 2 thousand years old.

For an European spectator the circus program is like a time and geographical spring-board which allows him or her to get to the Chinese civilization and to see Oriental mystery.

The artists have come to Vitebsk from Xinjiang one of the 31 provinces of China. Each Chinese region has its own unique circus. Of course, it differs much from European one. There is no clownery in it. There are no performing animals in it as the Chinese consider it to be inhumane.

Acrobatics, clowning, and tightrope walking prevail in it.

And these performances impress so much! Choreographic performance “Taming of Lions”, acrobatics “Lighting Candles”, “Games with Old Chinese Banners” are performed only in China!

Tricks with kerchiefs, jugglery of opened umbrellas mesmerize with their finesse. The entire program is filled with national colouring.

Founded in 1951 the circus troupe comprises prize- and diploma winners of prestigious contests and festivals. Ghu Tzhaernuki Utzikhun who performs acrobatics “Stand on One Hand” is recognized as a star of Chinese circus. Nalchin Zen Yuechao, the youngest participant of the troupe (12 years old) has already won the prize of the Audience Sympathy of the Circus Contest “Circus of XXI century”.

The troupe has pleased audience of Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Japan with their performances.

The ocean of generous and sincere applauds will be presented to the circus by Vitebsk audience. The famous Chinese troupe will be appearing at the stage for several times during the Festival.
