The map of the Festival Vitebsk depicts a lot of roads. One of them leads directly to the centre of folk crafts “Zadvinie”. The Fair “City of Masters” can be found there as well. This place is always crowded with people. Handcrafts are especially attractive for their originality. Hence, people buy clay penny whistles, baskets, embroideries, and pictures. Flowers made from golden straw have turned to be a bestseller. The craftsmen say that “fern flowers” were snapped up within the first hours of fair’s work. Some of the visitors snapped at the just-made pottery. The participants of the third potters’ open air constructed a kiln to finish pots, jugs, plates, and art compositions. The residence of blacksmiths has settled in "Zadvinie” as well. Visitors were interested to watch the work of Belarusian blacksmiths. Many of them used the chance to forge a horseshoe, a symbol of happiness. Pavel Borodin, the State Secretary of the Union State, has also visited the centre of folk crafts "Zadvinie".

A craftsman from Grodno presented him with old-style coins, an anti-crisis currency. Perhaps, it will assist in overcoming of the world crisis! The contests “malyavanka” in the “City of Masters” appeared to be the chief event. “Malyavanka” is a Belarusian name for carpets dyed with oils. They were brought to fashion by Yazep Drozdovich, a professional painter, a philosopher, a wanderer, who made his living by making such carpets.

Over 40 craftsmen from Vitebsk and Minsk regions took part in the contest. There were also messengers from the Belarusian Union of Artist. The exhibition “Ethnomodern” greatly contributed to the contest. For the first time the exhibition presented the works made by not only amateurs but also professionals. The main part of the exhibition contained the works made by the participants of nine open airs, held in Zaslavl (Minsk Oblast).
